About this Project

Austec secured the contract to contribute to the realisation of the UniSC Moreton Bay Campus masterplan and sustainability goals. This involvement encompassed the supply and installation of the Building Management System (BMS) across three new structures—Buildings A2, A3, and A4. Each of these three-story buildings boasts its own distinct features:

Building A2 houses a sports hall, laboratories, a gymnasium, consulting rooms, and facilities supporting the car park.

Building A3 is designed with a recording studio, offices, and an Indigenous Space.

Building D (A4) incorporates teaching spaces, PC2 laboratories for teaching and research, offices, and various support facilities.

A highlight of this project is the secondary chilled water plant in Building A, which supplies a tertiary chilled water plant located within each of the new buildings, demonstrating Austec’s commitment to integrating sustainable and efficient energy solutions.

The BMS implemented across all three buildings enables comprehensive control and monitoring of the mechanical climate and ventilation systems, along with the associated electrical, hydraulic, and lighting services. This initiative ensures the seamless integration of the new buildings’ BMS with the University of the Sunshine Coast’s broader BMS IT infrastructure.

Furthermore, a virtual server hosted on the USC Sippy Downs IT infrastructure provides BMS operators with a web-based graphical user interface (GUI), facilitating the management of building services across the university’s expansive campus network. This project underscores Austec’s dedication to advancing the operational efficiency and sustainability of educational facilities.
